1 | small onion, diced |
2 | cloves garlic, minced |
2 | cans (each 19 oz) navy beans, drained and rinsed |
¼ cup | tomato sauce |
2 tbsp | tomato paste |
2 tbsp | Louisiana Hot Sauce - Sweet Heat with Honey |
3 tbsp | apple cider vinegar |
3 tbsp | packed brown sugar |
1 tbsp | Worcestershire sauce |
1 tsp | dried mustard powder |
½ tsp | salt |
½ tsp | black pepper |
2 tbsp | chopped fresh parsley |
Heat large skillet over medium heat. Cook bacon, turning occasionally, for 3 to 5 minutes or until fat renders and bacon is crispy around edges.
Stir in onion and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 6 minutes or until lightly golden and tender. Stir in navy beans, tomato sauce, tomato paste, 1/2 cup water, The Original Louisiana Brand® Hot Sauce Sweet Heat Hot and Honey, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, salt and pepper; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for 15 to 20 minutes or until thickened and flavors are married. Garnish with parsley
Tip: Substitute 1 tsp mustard powder with 1 tbsp Dijon mustard if desired.
Substitute navy beans for white kidney beans if desired.
