Get the party started with these icy, tangy and refreshing grapefruit margaritas accented with Smoked Chipotle hot sauce.
1 tsp | chili powder |
1 tsp | coarse salt |
2 tbsp | Louisiana Hot Sauce - Smoked Chipotle |
Ice, as needed | |
¾ cup | tequila, divided |
1 cup | grapefruit juice, divided |
¼ cup | lime juice, divided |
¼ cup | orange liqueur, divided |
2 tbsp | agave syrup, divided |
2 | slices grapefruit, halved |
In small dish, whisk together chili powder and salt.
Transfer 1 tbsp The Original Louisiana Brand® Hot Sauce Smoked Chipotle to another small dish.
Dip rims of 4 lowball glasses into hot sauce, then twist in chili powder mixture. Fill glasses with ice.
In cocktail shaker, combine half the tequila, half the grapefruit juice, half the lime juice, half the orange liqueur, 1 ½ tsp hot sauce and half the agave syrup. Add ice and shake until cocktail shaker is frosty.
Divide margarita mixture between 2 rimmed glasses. Repeat process with remaining two glasses.
Garnish each glass with halved grapefruit slice.
Tip: Substitute agave syrup with simple syrup if preferred. To make simple syrup, mix equal parts water and sugar, then boil until sugar is dissolved. Let cool completely. Store remainder in airtight container in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
